Blue Christmas House

I signed on t Splitcoaststampers this morning to see what the Inspiration Challenge was providing for inspiration and was thrilled to find Bronner’s Christmas World.  My goodness, you could get lost in all the wonderful items on that site.  I was inspired by the Department 56 Calhoun House.

Calhoun House

I pulled out my Papertrey Board and Beams, Believe, and Home Made sets along with the Home Made templates and created my version of the snowy home.

I used SU’s retired Bliss Blue for the house and Creamy Caramel for the roof.  I stamped the windows and fence with white craft ink on parchment paper and embossed with white embossing powder.  The evergreen sprigs were done with Certainly Celery. I stamped the trees on Celery with versa and embossed with Gold embossing powder. I made all the bows with gold organdy ribbon and attached with glue dots.  The fence was attached to a base with folded tabs that attached to both the fence and the floor.  I used Mod Podge painted on with a brush to adhere Polar White Flower Soft for the snowy roof and ground cover.  This project took loads more time than I anticipated but I love the outcome.  Sadly I could not get a photo that shows how really darling this house is.

  1. Kitty, you did a fantastic job replicating the Dept. 56 Calhoun House. It looks like it could have take quite a bit of time to design and assemble.

  5. Kittie, this is just amazing! I want you to know that I didn’t do much decorating at home this year, BUT did put out the wonderful house you made last year! Like all your houses (and the adorable birdhouse), they add the perfect festive touch!
