One fun thing about playing in the Splitcoaststampers challenges is that they help push us out of our comfort zone and make us try something we normally wouldn’t do. The Tuesday Color Challenge to use Cherry Cobbler Black, Crumb Cake (a beige or kraft color) and a neutral gave me a push for sure. I love red, black and white together because it creates such gorgeous contrast so no problem there. But figuring a way to add the beige really made me put my thinking cap on to use the color in a way that would still allow for the big pop of contrasting colors. Here is what I came up with.
I decided to step way out of the box and make red flower arranged with black frond foliage and to use beige as a foliage embellishment. I couldn't resist adding three little black flowers on the red embossed frame layer to be contrast with the red flowers. I added a touch of black stickles in each flower center for sparkle but it doesn't show in the photo. Black foliage certainly isn't the norm but I love the contrast between the red, white and black. The sentiment is from the Rubbernecker set Butterflies Are Free set. I thought the swirls in the font was a perfect match for the swirl in the embossed frame. Check out my punched flower tutorial if you would like to know how I made my flowers.
Take a closer look at the spray of flowers. I have had lots of requests for a tutorial on how I make these punched floral sprays. I will be adding one very soon. It's lots easier than it looks.
Have a great day! Oh, by the way. Check out the new Rubbernecker images that were released yesterday.

This is stunning Kittie. Love the embossed corners and your flower arrangement is just gorgeous.
This is beautiful, Kittie!!! Red, black and white is one of my very favorite combinations, too. But, I have a lot of favorite combinations! LOL!! And thus I can not bring myself to even consider trying a color challenge! LOL!! Guess I don’t want anyone telling me what colors go together! LOL!!
You knocked another one out of the Ball Park. Beautiful. Love the colors and the flowers.
