The Technique Lovers Challenge on Splitcoaststampers on Monday was to use buttons. I pulled out buttons that have been in my drawer since I started stamping in 2004 and that matched the Riding Hood Red cardstock and designer paper that I have.
I cut four Papertrey In The Meadow trees to create my layered Christmas tree. I moved each tree down on the bottom of the die and cut off portions of each one to create the layers. I glued the top of each tree in place and popped up the bottom of each layer with rolled up glue dots. The buttons and bows were glued on with glossy accents. The little packages are 3/4” punched squares with little ribbons.
I didn’t realize how hard it would be to photograph the dark hunter cardstock. Next time I will definitely use olive.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping in.

Genius to think of layering 4 trees to give dimension. Such an adorable card with the buttons.
I love this card! It’s gorgeous.

Adorable card!
Cute tree card! Never thought of doing that with my die. You’re so clever, Kittie! I wasn’t able to create cards for the Mon. SCS challenges and haven’t had time to go back to the gallery to see all of the, I’m sure, neat ways with buttons and twine. TFS this neat tree card! 🙂
What a great technique. I may have to get the tree die now!
I have this die but it looked so flat I couldn’t figure out how to use it…now I know! Thanks for all your 3D inspiration and the kind words you have left on my wreaths.
