Good morning! I have a scene card and matching envelope to share with you today that I made for the Technique Lovers Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.
I love making both winter and summer outdoor scenes and I especially love trees. It has been quite a while since I pulled out my Kittie Kits Outdoor Master and played with the trees and mini fern.
I created a border on the front of my card by attaching a mast made with post its. I stamped the trees with light brown water based ink and filled in lightly with a stipple motion with a dry brush that I swiped directly across the ink pad to pick up ink.
I sponged in the tree tops and ground area and then filled in with the mini fern to add leaf and grassy texture. I sponged in the sky using a hand cut scalloped cloud template and finished the scene by adding pink flowers along the ground line using the tip of my mini fern stamp
I attached the fence with mounting tape and then added the tiny sprigs and flowers to create the flower border. I thought the tiny blue birds were the perfect touch to finish the project.
I used the exact same technique to create the scene on the envelope. The colors are a little lighter than the card front because the envelope paper quality is not nearly as nice as the cardstock.
I think this makes a lovely card and envelope set to send to someone. I have a few scene tutorials on my blog home page if you would like to see step by step photos of how I create scenes.
One work day down and four more to go. I hope you are having a great week and I appreciate you stopping in.

I really like the texture on the trees, and like you I like the blue birds for an added touch. makes us think of coming spring. thanks for sharing.
You are still the master at these scenes Kittie. Maybe I should dust off my kits and relearn how to use those again, eh? 😉 I always love your tree scenes, ocean & country scenes the best.
BEAUTIFUL card and ep! The trees and sky are very nice, as well as, the fence with the tiny flowers and birds looks so cute. I smile whenever I see your creations! TFS your talent, Kittie! 🙂
What a lovely card and envelope set. The little flowers and birds are so pretty. It’s actually nice to have the envelope a little more muted to sort of foreshadow the pretty card and scene inside.
Thank you for sharing this pretty project and directions! 🙂
You are so talented…you always have the most beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing.
OK, so we know you are back at work again and I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to know …. where do you find the time and energy to create after a long day at work???? And not only to create but to create such a detailed and pretty card.
Beautiful – once again. Could you tell me what “part” of the trees were masked? I’m guessing just the bottoms? They seem to be far enough apart to be stamped individually and the flowers/foliage would cover up the bottoms of the trees. I’m so confused – is there help for me? Guess I’m just visually challenged lol. Enough of my problems, thanks again for sharing your marvelous work.
I was so excited to see a new “scene” card by you Kittie. This is a gorgeous card and envelope. I love your stamps but never seem to be able to create a card this beautiful.
Beautiful card. Love how the fence is
popped up with the flowers at the bottom
along with the cute birds on the fence.
Such a pretty scene and just love the way the flowers & ferns are peeking out from the fence, sweet birds too!
Your envelope is just Gorgeous too!
This is so pretty. I need to practice more with the techniques you use. You are so talented and I love, love your blog. I look forward to it every day. If I ever hit the lottery (I guess you have to play to win) I would pay you not to work so you could just create and share it with us.
Beautiful, beautiful card…I love the flowers peeking through the fence!
Beautiful! Way to be creative!
Hi there Kittie, I just love your flowers – and also love the ones below so amazing – and have posted a link over to your blog on my last post – you will see I have made some card using the punch you helped me to get – but simple one and have not used the pine branch punch the wait is meant to be used but in relief – here is the post below.
Thanks again Kittie – you are so helpful and kind! I have linked over to you from my blog too.
