Home Sweet Home

It’s Friday and almost the weekend.  I am so happy!  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It challenge to use windows or doors.  I have been having so much fun playing with the Impression Obsession birdhouse and accessories die cuts and stamps. I think both the door and window dies are so cute and look so perfect with the fence die.

I used the birdhouse die to trace a template on the designer paper to cut for the roof section.  I wanted the roof to be a little wider than the house. I used the arrow edge punch to cut the cut border for a little added interest. I layered the roof section on white cardstock to make more secure and then mounted it on the house using mounting tape.  I cut the door and windows for the lower portion of the house and then a second door to create a larger window for the roof line. I attached the doors and windows with mounting tape.

I added a hand cut flower box on the top window and created an arrangement of foliage and flowers. I created small sprays of flowers for both the windows and door and added one to the handmade Home Sweet Home sign that I made with a circle punch and marker. The fence was attached with mounting tape and one section was added as an open gate.  I attached the grass border with glossy accents directly on the fence.  This project may look time consuming but really wasn’t at all.  The dies make things go so quickly.

I sure hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I am certainly looking forward to it. Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. Now that’s a house of dreams Kittie and it’s just perfect!
Nice touch leaving the gate open to welcome all. Thank you for being so generous with your ‘ingredients’ and tips.
Hope I manage to post this correctly – I seem to lose my comments on your post particularly if I ‘preview’ it. LOL
