Good Saturday morning. Is it just me or does it seem like 2016 flew by way too fast? It’s been a year full of wonderful experiences and some not so wonderful. One thing that always makes me happy is sharing my paper crafting projects with you on my blog. I thought I would select some of my favorites for the year and share them today for my last post in 2016. Click on the links if you would like to see the full post for each project.
Thank you so much for all of your supportive comments this past year. It means more to me than you know. I hope my cards have inspired you to get your own crafting supplies out and creating beautiful projects of your own. I’m wishing each of you a Healthy and Happy New Year in 2017.
Good Friday morning. Splitcoaststampers is holding a special “Falliday Fest” event around the fall and winter holiday crafting season and I was invited to do a Christmas Tree video and step by step tutorial. I hope you don’t mind me sharing Christmas Tree projects that I made over the last couple of years. Funny thing….there are kitty cats in everyone of them. LOL! If these projects are new to you feel free to click on the link above each picture to go back to the original blog post.
I hope you may be inspired to try making a special Christmas Tree project of your own. I’ve linked several branch dies and a punch that you could use to create a tree. You can see the dies and supplies for each project on their individual blog post. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Good Saturday morning. Before I start my post I would like to announce the winner of my blog candy. Congratulations to Connie aka Conniecrafter for being the 18th comment chosen my Random.com. Connie, send your mailing address to email@example.com and I will get your gift right out in the mail to you.
Thanks to everyone who checked in with us during hurricane Matthew. We had high winds and rain here in the Orlando area but we fortunately didn’t suffer any damage to our home. We have several large old oak trees in our yard and neighborhood. One huge tree fell in our next door neighbor’s yard but luckily didn’t hit our houses.
My project today was made using the Memory Box Country Road Oval, Valley Deer Trio and a tiny star from the Impression Obsession Sun and Moon set. The oval frame was made using Spellbinders Elongated Ovals. I’m not sure these dies are still being made as I couldn’t find them anywhere to link for you. The shape of these ovals are longer from top to bottom than the Classic Nestabilities oval. I used Fiskars Nostalgia Corner Edgers on the blue layer and couldn’t find them anywhere to link for you. I’ve had them for years.
I applied the scene image out, applied Cosmic Glitter Glue and glitter and set it aside to dry. I created a double matted frame using the elongated Spellbinders ovals. I applied double stick tape to the back of the white frame and attached it to the smaller blue frame.
I marked off on the blue layer where the open cut of the road would be and applied glitter glue and glitter to that area. I cut the corners with the Corner Edgers and attached it to the card base with mounting tape. I applied mounting tape to the back of the framed scene and attached to the blue base. I couldn’t resist adding the two deer in the forefront of the scene.
I’ve gotten on a blue and white scene theme lately and just can’t seem to help myself. I love how the all white images and sparkle looks against the blue background. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.
Good Sunday morning. My project today is a country village snow scene made using the Memory Box Countryside Circle paired with the My Favorite Things Mini Scallop Square Stax and a tiny star from the Impression Obsession Sun and Moon set. I love using the white and pale blue color combination for snowy holiday cards. There is something so peaceful about the combination and using a bit of sparkles adds special touch.
The Countryside Circle is a small die and I felt being placed on a large card would overwhelm and distract. I decided that 4.50” square would be the perfect size. I cut the scene die out once in full and cut the tree and house section out two more times. I thought the little house a three trees looked a little lonely so I cut the extra houses and trees apart and attached them to the back of the circle frame. I applied a thin line of Cosmic Glitter Glue along the ground level of the scene and covered the trees and then applied glitter to add a little sparkle. I attached the scene layer to the blue scalloped layer using mounting tape and then attached the blue layer to the card base with mounting tape. I applied falling snow to the sky using a Uni-bal white gel pen. I added a tiny sparkly star in the sky to finish. So sad that the sparkle doesn’t really show well in the photos.
I have the Elizabeth Craft Designs Outdoor Edges die set that I just “had to have” but never used. LOL! I thought it would be the perfect set to offer as blog candy to add to someone’s scenery die stash. Leave a comment on this post by 5:00 pm Friday, Oct 7th telling me what your favorite holiday color combination is. Red, white and green is my absolute favorite but this blue and white combo is certainly running a close second. I’ll announce the randomly chosen winner on my Saturday morning post.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day.
