Good Saturday morning. Before I start my post I would like to announce the winner of my blog candy. Congratulations to Connie aka Conniecrafter for being the 18th comment chosen my Random.com. Connie, send your mailing address to kittie747@cfl.rr.com and I will get your gift right out in the mail to you.
Thanks to everyone who checked in with us during hurricane Matthew. We had high winds and rain here in the Orlando area but we fortunately didn’t suffer any damage to our home. We have several large old oak trees in our yard and neighborhood. One huge tree fell in our next door neighbor’s yard but luckily didn’t hit our houses.
My project today was made using the Memory Box Country Road Oval, Valley Deer Trio and a tiny star from the Impression Obsession Sun and Moon set. The oval frame was made using Spellbinders Elongated Ovals. I’m not sure these dies are still being made as I couldn’t find them anywhere to link for you. The shape of these ovals are longer from top to bottom than the Classic Nestabilities oval. I used Fiskars Nostalgia Corner Edgers on the blue layer and couldn’t find them anywhere to link for you. I’ve had them for years.
I applied the scene image out, applied Cosmic Glitter Glue and glitter and set it aside to dry. I created a double matted frame using the elongated Spellbinders ovals. I applied double stick tape to the back of the white frame and attached it to the smaller blue frame.
I marked off on the blue layer where the open cut of the road would be and applied glitter glue and glitter to that area. I cut the corners with the Corner Edgers and attached it to the card base with mounting tape. I applied mounting tape to the back of the framed scene and attached to the blue base. I couldn’t resist adding the two deer in the forefront of the scene.
I’ve gotten on a blue and white scene theme lately and just can’t seem to help myself. I love how the all white images and sparkle looks against the blue background. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.
Card size: 5.50” x 4.25”
So glad you survived the hurricane. I loved your card, especially the colors
Your glittery scene is so pretty!! Glad y’all didn’t have damage from the hurricane! 🙂
OH KITTIE! THIS IS GORGEOUS!!! I was SMITTEN when I saw this one & HAD TO come over to tell you!!! JUST GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😉 Glad you are alright with having had the hurricane! I think we are getting some of the rain today! It’s quite dark out for this time of day.
What a beautiful card! I love the gorgeous frosty winter scene and the deer frolicking in the sparkly snow!
Congratulations to the winner!
So happy you are okay from the storm! My son-n-laws parents live in Palm Beach, they are okay. My daughter and her family live in Port St. Lucie, okay. My 93 year old Dad, sister live in Rockledge (Brevard, County) no power, fruit trees down but okay. My grandson lives in Titusville, okay. My granddaughter lives in St. Augustine, no power, lots of trees down one on the roof but not threw the roof, some flooding. I have not been able to contact her this morning and am worried. They are so lucky the hurricane took a slight turn! It could have been very bad!

Oh my gosh, this is beautiful. Well … all your work is beautiful. If I received this, I would frame it and hang it on the wall.
Forgot to mention that I pinned it.
Hi Kittie, it has been a while but, it is always marvelous to get back. I LOVE this peaceful, happy winter scene and the blue and white combination including the little star you have been using from IO. TFS the joy. I too, looked for the Fiskar’s Nostalgia Edger and I could not find it; however, I did find the scissors here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fiskars-NOSTALGIA-Corner-Edgers-Scissors-Scrapbook-Corner-Scissors-New-/391263862470 -the edge they cut in the photo seems to have been cut with the blade facing in the opposite direction. I hope this helps anyone looking for it.
So excited about winning and can’t wait to try out the borders, sorry it took me so long to get back with you, just got back from vacation. We heard bits and pieces of the storm while gone but didn’t know how bad it was until yesterday when we heard a report, I am so glad that you all made it through ok and the trees did not fall on your homes.
Your card is lovely, such a pretty scene, and I love the leaping deer!!
