No Place Like Home

Happy Saturday morning!  I have a fun die cut scene to share with you today using new dies from Impression Obsession.

I die cut the tree out of kraft cardstock, applied Antique Linen Distress Ink directly on the tree using the ink pad and heat dried.  I die cut the Memory Box Leaf Canopy using green cardstock and and the Memory Box Flower Mound using pink cardstock and applied the tiny leaves and flowers to the tree branches with Glossy Accents. I die cut the house using paper from the Simple Stories Baby Steps. I thought it would be fun to have the house made with a fun pattern to show off all the white accents.  I die cut the top portion of the house a second time with white cardstock and used mini scalloped scissors to cut across the roof line. I ran the roof section through my crimper stopping right above the scalloped edge, and attached to the house.  I used a thin strip of mounting tape along the scalloped border to pop it out and to create a little dimension.  I cut the windows, door, fence and clouds using white cardstock.

I attached the door and windows on the house and then attached it to the pink card base. I applied tiny thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the tree in several places and attached to the card base and overlapping the house. I attached thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the fence and placed along the bottom of the scene.  I cut one section of fence and popped out a bit to create a fence gate. I punched foliage using the Martha Stewart Branch Punch and cut the top three sprigs off of each one and attached to the fence with Glossy Accents. I applied more tiny pink flowers to the border for the finishing touch.  I wish this is what my front yard looked like.  You can click on the photos to see a closer view.

  4. Your cards are so wonderful and intereting! I love the houses but I am wondering how you get the little doors to look solid white or in color when the die cuts the panels out. Do you layer it on the same color paper and trim around it?
