Good Saturday morning. I am hosting the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge today at Splitcoaststampers. The SCS community is joining forces with the Pink Army to create cards to be sent to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to be given to patients by their visitors. Just click here if you would like to come and join us in this cause.
My challenge is to create a card representing a “Window of Hope”. It could be any kind of window at all from stamped, die cut, sketched, painted or hand cut. It doesn’t matter. Just create a project that would bring hope and encouragement. Using pink on the card would be a bonus.
Here’s what I came up.
I cut the window frame and flower box for the front of the card. I used the inner area of the die to draw a template of the window on the base of the card and cut it out with my craft knife. I attached the scored white piece of the card base and then attached the front window to the opening with mounting tape. I cut the blind, crimped it and attached it to the inside window opening. I attached designer paper to a piece of cardstock and mounted it with a double layer of mounting tape over the inside window opening. I wanted to create depth with the extra layer of tape. I attached the flower box with mounting tape to the base of the card.
I punched and cut lots of flowers and foliage to create a garden in the flower box. I thought the butterflies were such a sweet addition. Everyone loves the beauty and cheerfulness of a butterfly.
Here’s a little closer view of the flower box and garden. I love the tiny ivy tendrils. They look so natural growing out of all those flowers.
I would love for you to come and join us in the challenge. Maybe we will see you over there. Have a great day and restful weekend. Thanks for stopping by.
