Impression Obsession CHA Winter DT Blog Hop Day One

Welcome to the first day of our CHA Winter DT Blog Hop to preview our Spring/Summer  stamps.  Come by every day this week and check out all the wonderful design team projects.

For my project today I used the Bed & Breakfast House, My Little Chickadees, Birds, Twig Wreath, Bare Branch

If you follow my blog you know that I love birdhouses so I was really excited to see this wonderful image.  I couldn’t wait to color it.

I created a double matted frame to create a dimensional background for my birdhouse and mounted it on the card base with mounting tape.. I cut several pine sprigs from the Twig Wreath set, attached them to the Bare Branch using glossy accents and secured it behind the top of the oval frame using glue dots and glossy accents.

I stamped the birdhouse using versafine onyx black on watercolor paper, watercolored using a brush and reinkers and cut out with my snips to pop up on my card. I stamped the chickadee on watercolor paper, watercolored and cut out using the bird die. You can see a step by step tutorial on how I cut stamped images and coordinating dies here. I attached the bird house to the frame,  added sprigs of pine and bare branch to the perch and finished by adding the bird to the pine perch.

  1. I love your card and how you tucked the pine under the ovals…great coloring of the birdhouse and bird, too. So striking. Another homerun…pun intended. LOL

  9. Wow! I love everything about this card, especially the way you’ve got the branches overhanging the image at the top. I have the bird stamps and dies (in fact I used them on my wedding invitations last year) and It’s so nice to see different ways to use them.
