Clean and Simple Fun in Threes

Good Thursday morning. I have two clean and simple projects to share with you today and both have three identical focal images done in different colors that pop against the white background and add fun and interest to the simple design.

The first was made using the Impression Obsession Umbrella

I cut two bright yellow strips of cardstock and attached to the top and bottom of the card base using my ATG adhesive. I cut the three umbrellas and hand cut the handle off of each one of them.  Using my fingers I rounded each umbrella and added rolled glue dots to the sides and top of each and mounted to the white card base. I tucked the handles in under the popped up umbrella and attached with tiny dots of glossy accents.

I applied several dots of clear glass effect gel to create the appearance of rain drops and sprinkled with clear glitter.  I finished by adding tiny little white bows to each handle.  I think this would cheer up anyone’s day.

My second project was made using the Impression Obsession Sunglasses die set.  These bright colors made me think of the beach.

I’ve got a few pictures to show the steps I used to make my shiny sunglasses.

Apply glossy accents to the back of the glasses and attach to black cardstock.

I like how they all turned out.

I attached a few tiny colorful flowers to each pair of glasses for a fun retro look. I created matching scalloped layers to pop the glasses up on to add one more element of dimension and interest. Don’t they look like perfect miniature glasses.

  1. Two cute cards and great tutorials. I love the way the sunglasses come to life after you ‘smash’ them into the embossing ink and the powder. They do look like real glasses! You are so clever.
Thanks for sharing all the great hints and techniques. 🙂

  5. The first card is obviously representing the spring we are having rather than the usual spring we think of ! Love the raindrops and the embossing on the glasses which makes them so real…

  6. Both of these cards are just awesome! What fun ideas you have, those little umbrellas would be just perfect for me as I live in rainy Oregon!! What a clever idea to clear emboss the sunglasses, you are amazing and I love these cards and the fantastic things you do to turn a simple die into something so realistic!
