Good Saturday morning. I had a wonderful package of Susan Tierney Goodies in the mail today when I got home from work. I was especially excited to play with Susan’s Door and Wreath set .
Here’s what I came up with.
I applied ink to the inside of the embossing fold with my brayer and embossed the paper placing the top of the embossing folder face down on my Big Shot. I wanted the brick to be light and the mortar to be a little darker. I attached the brick embossed layer to the card base. I embossed the door and decided to cut it out so I could pop it up with mounting tape on the brick layer. I liked the door being offset and allowing more of the brick to show on one side.
I cut the petals to create my rose and assembled it following the steps in Susan’s rose video. I punched a few branches and cut some of the smallest ivy and attached to the door with glossy accents to create a floral spray for the door. I attached tails of pink ribbon to add another element of softness. Here’s a closer view.
I added a nob to the door using gold paper pen for the finishing touch. I love that stuff.
I have not heard from Fran Ferguson to claim her blog candy gift. I don’t have an email to contact her. If anyone knows how to contact Fran please let her know to contact me at kittie747@cfl.rr.com. If I haven’t heard from her by Sunday evening I will do another random drawing for a new winner and announce it at the beginning of the week.
I hope you have a great weekend. Take some time to create and get your fingers inky. Thanks for stopping by.
