Tiny Birdhouse Village

Good Sunday morning.  I have a fun project to share with you today using the Memory Box Tiny Village and Resting Birds paired with the Impression Obsession Leafy Branch 2. I had such a good time yesterday stamping a foliage background behind my die cut images that I thought I would use the same technique today.  I pulled out a tiny foliage stamp from my Kittie Kits Outdoor Master to stamp leaves and add depth and dimension behind my branch.

I cut the leafy branch using green cardstock and colored the branches with a brown Copic marker leaving the leaves green.  I cut the tiny village houses and resting birds using white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers.  I attached the houses to the branches with glossy accents and applied a couple of leaves to the top of each house.  I cut tiny flowers using amethyst cardstock and my flower mound die, formed the flowers with my tiny stylus and attached to the branches and house tops.  I attached the birds in place with glossy accents.KC Memory Box Tiny Village 1 center

I laid my branch on the white cardstock to get an idea of where to stamp the foliage background.  I stamped in the foliage and used a Copic marker to color in tiny flowers. I applied the white layer over the amethyst decorative border and attached to the card base. I attached the branch over the stamped foliage using rolled glue dots.

Pale pink, yellow, blue and amethyst are one of my favorite color combinations for spring projects. One disappointment is that amethyst always seems to photograph as a darker blue than it really is.  The amethyst is really much softer in person. Here’s a couple closer views to see the dimension.

I thought the tiny village houses would make perfect birdhouses.  I love how this turned out. I wish you could see it in person.

I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  I sure am.  Check out my Saturday post if you would like to see how I created the background behind my die cut images.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Totally adorable….certainly caught my eye with those darling birdhouses…love the sketch you followed as well. Blue and yellow are my go-to summer colors, but I always have a hard time finding of mellow yellow paper.
