Merry Christmas Tree and Poinsettia

Good Monday morning.  I guess you can tell that I have gotten into the spirit of making Christmas cards.  There are so many fun new holiday dies out there that I can help myself.  My project today was made using Elizabeth Craft Designs 5 Part Pine, Merry Christmas Sentiment, Bunch of Flowers 2, Lifestyle Nesting Frame 10, Sizzix Ornate Label 2.

I cut the decorative layers out and attached them to the card base with mounting tape.  I always love to add dimension to the card front with mounting tape as it adds so much more interest than flat layers.

I cut the 5 Part Pine and ran the sections through my crimper to add dimension.  I attached them together using rolled glue dots and then attached the tree to the base using mounting tape.

I cut the flower sections a couple of times in both cherry cobbler and olive and formed them using my stylus and molding pad. I attached the sections together with glossy accents.  I cut a small strip of yellow cardstock and cut several little slits across it and rolled it around the tip of my tweezers and glued it closed.  I fanned out the little strips and inserted in to the flower center.  I think this flower die makes the perfect mini poinsettia.

Here is a side view of the tree so you can see the dimension of the layers.  I love how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I sure hope you have a great week.

  2. Beautiful card! I love how you always have so much dimension on your cards. The poinsettia is awesome! You have inspired me when I make a flower to try and give it some curves and body. They look so much better!
