Warm Bell Flowers and Tutorial

Good Thursday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It Challenge to use warm or cool colors.  I had the red and white card base already on my desk so thought I would cover it with a stem of the new Dee’s Bell Floral 1 die set done in red, white and yellowish green. I took a few step by step photos to show how I formed and assembled the flower.

I started by cutting all the pieces of the flower, leaves and stem.

1a

I formed the flowers pieces with my stylus and molding pad.

1b

I formed the leaves with the loop tool.

1

I attached the flowers to the stem with glossy accents, alternating them so they would appear to grow naturally.

2

Here’s a closer view.  I attached the two center flowers and then attached the three outer flowers over them.

3

I attached the leaves by starting at the bottom and tucked additional leaves in behind.

4

I attached a single layer of mounting tape to the bottom of the stem and 3 layers to the upper stem to attach to the card base.  The three layers allowed the stem of flowers to stand up away from the base so it wouldn’t look too flat.  Did that make sense?

5

I attached rolled glue dots underneath a few of the flowers to hold in place.

The next time I play with this set I will use white cardstock and color the flowers with PanPastel.  But I really like the boldness of the red, white and green.

  1. What a cute little flower that is. I dont know if thats supposed to be Lily of the Valley but it sure looks similar. I know the leaves hide the flowers in real life, I pick them in my yard every year, the fragrance is wonderful and they last such a short while. Very pretty with the border.
