Impression Obsession 2014 Spring “Die” Hop Day 1

Good Tuesday morning. Welcome to Day 1 of the  Design Team Spring Die Hop! I have been sharing the new dies with you over the past couple of weeks but this week our team is going to wow you each day of the hop with their “die” creativity.

My project today was made using the Vase Set, Square Cutout Border, Tiny Flowers, Hollyhocks and Leafy Branch.

Designing this vase of flowers took me back in time to working in my mother’s flower shop.  The design concept for this tiny floral bouquet is exactly the same as if I were creating a full size vase of flowers.  The only difference is that if I were making a large vase of fresh flowers I would start by placing the tallest flower and foliage in the back center of the vase and work my way forward adding flowers as I go.  With this tiny version I started gluing the shortest stems of foliage and flowers to the back of the vase and worked my way backward filling in and gluing with taller and wider pieces until I was finished with my design.

I used my magnetic platform to line up and cut out both sides of my cardstock using the square cutout border. I attached it to the card base with mounting tape.

I attached a piece of mounting tape to the back of the vase and lots of glossy accents to the back of the flowers and mounted it on the cutout layer. I added the tiny yellow bow for the final finishing touch.
