Good Tuesday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge. A few weeks ago I watched Dawn’s Watercolor Trees video tutorial on the WPlus9 Design Blog. I had to hop on over to Ellen’s and check out the Coming Up Roses stamp set used on the video and I got it in the mail last night. The set has several images that work well for scenery as well as some wonderful multistep rose images.
Here’s what I came up with.
I stamped the tree and branch brown and then filled in the tree top using light and darker green and aqua and turquoise inks. I lightly touched several of the leaves and trunk with my waterbrush to give a watercolor appearance.
I put a fine layer of water on the ground area around the tree trunk and then applied light green ink. I filled in the grass area with the same textured stamp used on the tree top and then lightly added added a few delicate flowers. I just couldn’t resist adding the three blue birds for a touch of dimension and for a sweet finishing touch.
Here’s a view of the Coming Up Roses stamp set. You can see the images I used for this scene on the lower right hand side of the display.
Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

A beautiful, peaceful scene, Kittie! The softness of it is very soothing. The birds are the perfect embellishment. Now I need to figure out how to do this with what I already own. Thank you for sharing today.
