Watering The Flowers

Good Tuesday morning.  My project today is a cheerful watering can scene that would be perfect to brighten someone’s day. I love the bright yellow and aqua color combination and the white eyelet border over the yellow background. I don’t know if you can see it well in the photo but I cut a matching green eyelet strip to cover the line of flowers.

I started by cutting the decorative white border for the background layer and attaching it to the yellow background with mounting tape.  I attached both to the card base with another layer of mounting tape for an added level of dimension and interest.

I attached the grass border to the green eyelet strip and attached it to the white background with mounting tape.  I tucked the tiny flowers and stems in behind the grass border and attached with glossy accents. I added crystal clear glass effect gel to the spout of the can as well as creating tiny water drops on the card base and sprinkled glitter on both to add sparkle. Since it was a little hard to see in the full photos I added a closer view below.

I finished by adding the popped up sun and cloud and birds to the scene. The finishing touch was the added yellow taffeta ribbon and bow.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day.

  1. I’m subscribed to your emails but I don’t leave many comments at all and I just thought it was time for me to let you know how much you inspire me. When I open my emails I can honestly say that I open your email first. I look forward to see what you have created next. I have also just purchased some of the Susan’s Flowers and the tool kit. I’m just starting to make my first rose. I have cut out the dies and have embossed the petals so they are ready to be put together to be a rose. I did however stop there because I want to look at the u-tube video on that before I continue. I have about 4-5 flowers and a fence, window and I;m sure I’ll be getting more. Thank you for all the beautiful art you take time to post so often!!!!!

The green eyelet strip is brilliant, it makes the flower box complete, love the bird on the edge too! Wow, the water drops, I will be using that technique. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, uplifting, creatively inspiring card today.
