Good Saturday morning. I’m sharing a card that I made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge. Our inspiration site for the challenge was a Pinterest site dedicated totally to umbrellas. I was inspired by a beautiful grassy garden scene with bright pink and green flower garden along with a couple sitting under a bright pink umbrella. I used the Impression Obsession Beach Chairs, Beach Umbrella, Grass Border, Small Grass Border, Small Bird Set, Tiny Flowers and a tiny image from the the WPlus9 Coming Up Roses set.
I started by sponging green and blue ink on the card base to create the ground and sky area and then lightly washed it with water using my waterbrush. I stamped grass and flowers to the ground area using the image from the stamp set. I just inked up the pointed tip of the stamp to apply the flowers and taller sprigs of grass.
I originally created a grass border made to match the sponged and stamped flower background but it just looked too pale and lifeless. I decided to go ahead and add the tall grass sprigs as well as the grass border in bright green to add more contrast to the white chair and soft background. Originally the umbrella was all pink but it was just too much pink so I added the green section to add more interest.
I tucked the chair in behind the grass border attaching with mounting tape. I attached the grass sprigs and tiny pink flowers with glossy accents. The umbrella was attached with rolled up glue dots. I added the birds for the finishing touch. I would love to have a place that pretty to sit and enjoy the outdoors.
