Best Day Ever

Good Sunday morning.  Time sure flies by quickly.  It seems just yesterday we were all excited about the upcoming holiday season with Christmas and New Year’s.  I’m going to enjoy the last day of my holiday weekend by catching up on some fun at my craft desk.  My project today was made using some of the dies from the Impression Obsession Fall and Winter 2015 die release.  I don’t use lots of sentiments on my cards but I thought the Best Day Ever paired with the balloons from Balloon Block  stamp and die set would be perfect for any kind of celebration. The frame was made using the All-in-One Squares 2.

I cut the frames and attached two of the frame sections together using double stick tape and then applied mounting tape to attach the frame to the white background layer.  The white layer and frame were attached to the card base with mounting tape to add another element of dimension. The All-in-One frame dies by Impression Obsession are a solid metal die with several different frame shapes within the frame.  These are not individual dies that need to be cut apart.  I have a storage box where I keep all the additional frames for later use. I noticed when I popped over to Ellen’s to get the link for the frame that it was on sale for $5.00 off.  Woo Hoo! I like to share good deals. If you haven’t already be sure to check out Ellen’s 50 to 70% off CLEARANCE SALE.

I had the purple and teal cardstock on my desk from yesterday’s project so decided they would be fun colors to use today.  I used the pink for the frame and card base to brighten the whole project.  I cut the sentiment in both purple and teal so I could layer them together for slight colorful shadow. I cut and applied thin strips of mounting tape to several key places on the back of the sentiment and then attached it inside the frame.

The balloons were cut in all three colors and attached with mounting tape.  I started with the top pink balloon and worked my way forward to create my balloon bouquet.  I cut a few of the balloon streamers off so only a few would show and then added a tiny white bow for the finishing touch.  Who wouldn’t like to celebrate a special occasion or accomplishment with this festive card!

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you will taking some time for yourself and get in your craft room for some creativity.
