Good Saturday morning. I have a sweet spring card to share with you but before I do I want to announce the winner of my blog candy gift of the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers set. Congratulations to Pattie Jones for being the 55th comment chosen by Random.org. Pattie please email your address to me at kittie747@cfl.rr.com and I will get your gift right out in the mail to you.
My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge. Our inspiration was the Artistic Envelope Pinterest site and it was full of beautiful ideas for using and decorating envelopes. I was inspired by Sending Love and Hugs, a precious card with an envelope as the main focus of the project. The envelope I used on the front of my card is much larger but I wanted to create a springy bunny scene in the opening of the envelope that matched the cute flower pattern. I used the Impression Obsession Bunny Set paired with the Grass Border, Small Grass Border and Hollyhocks. The scalloped background layers were made using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. Here's what I came up with.
I had some 3.25” envelopes in my stash so I took one apart and used it as a template to make my flowered enveloped. I applied mono removable adhesive to attached the envelope to the designer paper, traced around it with a pencil and then cut it out with my snips. I cut a second top portion of the envelope out so I could use it on the inside flap of the envelope as I wasn’t fond of the back side of the paper. I tucked it down inside the envelope to cover the original and attached in place with ATG adhesive. I scored all four sides of the envelope flaps, folded the side flaps in and then applied ATG adhesive to the bottom flap and folded it up and secured it in place.
I cut a couple sections of both grass borders and secured on the inside of the envelope using glossy accents. Some of the grass was attached to the front side opening and some were attached to the back side of the envelope. Doing this allowed there to be separation and dimension. I attached in a few hollyhock stems in place with glossy accents and then tucked the bunnies in between the gauss layers and attached with mounting tape. I have used these bunnies to create many scene projects as they are some of my favorite spring dies. I have used them in snowy winter scenes as well.
Here is a closer view of the scene.
Check out this link to more of my Bunny Scene posts . What fun they are for me to make.
