Good Tuesday morning. I had so much fun over the weekend creating a tree and garden scene with my Art Impressions Watercolor Flower and Watercolor Foliage stamps. I had a small piece of watercolor paper left over on my desk so I used it with the flower and foliage sets to make the simple garden scene for my project today.
I stamped the green foliage all the way across the paper to create a base for my garden. I used several colors of distress ink to stamp the different flower images to fill in the garden. I used a damp brush to lightly touch the flowers and foliage to soften the images to appear more like they were watercolored. I heat set the scene and then lightly sponged yellow ink to brighten the scene. I may have gotten a little too heavy handed with the yellow as it sort of distorted the colors but I still like it.
I layered the scene over green cardstock and then attached the fence and grass border with mounting tape. There was just too much blank space on the card base so I added the scalloped border to help anchor the scene. I added the three tiny orange butterflies for the finishing touch.
I have ordered almost all of the Art Impressions scene building stamps from Ellen and can hardly wait for them to arrive. I think it will be lots of fun to incorporate stamped watercolor scenery and images with die cut images.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day.
PS I'm having a little trouble moving the stamps, dies and accessories that I used for today's project to the top of my links list so you'll need to scroll down past my regular supply list to find them.
