Good Wednesday morning. My card today is the outcome of my being too stubborn to give up on a project when things don’t go right. LOL! The images are from the Art Impressions Garden Window set. The stamps and coordinating window dies are intended to be used to create a trifold card and all the instructions are included with this set.
I started out creating the trifold with white cardstock, stamped the images on the three different folds, die cut the window openings and watercolored using distress reinkers and an aqua brush. Everything went very well and I was happy.
As I was admiring the fact that I actually got the layers of the trifold to work together to create a mini diorama I noticed a big red blob of pink ink had smeared all over the top front of the card. UGH!
So instead of tossing it in the trash I cut the three sections out , framed and mounted them together on a regular card front. The little kitten in the dimensional scene was attached with mounting tape over the opening on the inside of the card base and the framed garden window and drapery layers were attached on the outside of the card front with mounting tape. Each layer is separated with one layer of mounting tape and creates the dimension. I kept the frame and card base all white to allow the small scene to show better. I took the close up so you could see the layers. And…..being a cat person I love that kitten sleeping on the chair.
The three different images and dies work perfectly well and the instructions are really easy to follow. When I play with this set again I will use a good watercolor paper so my colors will be more vibrant. This fun set will also be perfect for those of you who love to use alcohol markers. Water coloring happens to be my first love.
Thanks for putting up with my blah, blah, blah about my boo boo. I just hated to let the cute images go to waste. I hope you have a great day and I appreciate you coming by.
Card size: 5.50” x 4.25”
Great save, Kittie, with the frame! lol. Your card is adorable! I made some samples with these Mini TryFolds for CHA and I love them! Glad you enjoyed them too. 🙂
Wish I had a nickel for every ink blob I’ve had to cover up….LOL
Cute card….you know I love kitties.
This has happened to me also. It’s funny how you end up creating a stunning card with something that starts out with an ooops but somehow it always works out great. Your card is gorgeous and has given me an idea for a card so I’m glad you had an oops! Hugz
Your ooops is stunning 🙂
Very cute…and what a good price for that stamp and die set….so often our “oops” turns out to be a good idea.
Enjoy your day and be well my friend,
Vickie
Well worth your trouble! Sweet card!
This is SO SWEET, Kittie! I hate it when I make “boo-boo’s” too. You did VERY WELL in salvaging this SWEET IMAGE! One would NEVER KNOW, except your telling us. (We won’t tell!);) BEAUTIFULLY DONE!!!! (We like kitties too!) 😉
Such a pretty scene! So glad you salvaged it!
Great save and a different look from the original!!! Good on you Kittie!!!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
Very sweet scene. Thanks for sharing the sad story … Your rescued design looks great with the frame and layers.
It’s never an Opps! Its just a new opportunity to create something else than what you thought you were going to make. With your skills and knowledge of so many great techniques any thing you make is going to be awesome. Love your pretty card. 🙂
