Good Saturday morning. I have a bright and colorful fall project to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Pumpkin Set, Squirrel Set, Oak Leaves and Rake Set, Grass Border and Thankful Sentiment. I thought I would share a few photos along the way of how I color and shade my pumpkins using Distress Inks and mini applicators. To see how I color my leaves and squirrels check out my Leaves with Distress Inks tutorial and Coloring Die Cut Animals tutorial.
I cut the pumpkins out using orange cardstock and apply Spiced Marmalade ink to add depth of color.
I apply Vintage Photo ink to the stem and blend it around the outer edges of the pumpkin to blend and create more depth of color.
The squirrels were colored using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink. The leaves were colored using Peeled Paint, Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade.
I cut a piece of cardstock 4.50” x 3.25” for the rectangle layer for my scene and attach it to the card base with mounting tape. The grass border is attached to the layer with mounting tape. The pumpkins and squirrels were set in place and attached with mounting tape. I put one squirrel popping out from between two of the pumpkins.
I cut the sentiment using orange and applied a little of the Spiced Marmalade to add depth and then applied versa and embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment was attached to the base using Cosmic Glitter Glue, I love this glue because it dries clear. I finished by forming the leaves using a stylus and molding pad and then attached them around the scene using glossy accents.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Again, Miss Kittie, your creativity amazes me… This is such a darling card… I think you must have seen the squirrels in my back yard that we feed. They look like yours…. Too cute, thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity
I LOVE this card!! I think I am going to have to try and CASE this one for sure! 🙂 I’ve had this set of squirrel dies for a long time and have been afraid to use them thinking I can’t color them as well as you do. But, I’m going to get out my distress inks and practice, practice, practice until I get them done well. (Here’s hoping I do better with them than I fear even on my first try! LOL!!)
What a stunning card. Found your blog through a good friend and so happy she sent me your way. I will be trying a lot of your techniques.
Have a creative day.
