Branch Framed Garden Scene

Good Monday afternoon.  I have a stamped watercolor garden scene to share with you today using the Art Impressions Watercolor Tree Set, Watercolor Foliage Set and Watercolor Flower Set paired with the Impression Obsession Branches Corner.  I used my retired Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Mini fern stamp to create the leaves on the trees. I used Distress Markers to apply ink to the stamps and used water brushes to  pull the color out for the grass and lightly touched the flowers to soften.

I secured the watercolor paper in my MISTI with the magnets and set the tree stamp in place, applied ink and stamped a couple of times to get good coverage.  I repeated this  step two more times to create three trees.  You can really only see two well in the scene.  I tried something different for my trees this time and I like how it worked.  I stamped the trees in green thinking it would be easier to cover the upper branches when applying leaves.  Then I took my brown marker and colored over the green trunk and lower branches.  It worked great. Next I stamped the leaves using a darker green and lighter green to fill in the tree.  I used the darker green to stamp the grass images leaving small spaces in between each image.  I added purple flowers all around the tree trunks and ground area.  Then I used a damp brush to pull the green from the grass images to fill in all around the flowers and used a wet brush to pull the green out to the edges of the scene.  I added a few pink flowers in the background to draw the eye back.  I applied tiny dots of white gel pen to the center of each of the purple flowers. I finished the scene by sponging blue in the sky area using an ink blending tool.

I cut four Branches Corners to use to create the branch frame.  I applied double stick tape to the back three sides of the frame.  I attached one full branch in the left corner, turned one on it’s side and attached to the right side of the frame.  I cut the other two branches apart and attached to the lower sides of the frame.  I attached the scene to the card base using ATG adhesive.  I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it over the scene to finish.
