Good Friday morning. My project today was using the newly released Essentials by Ellen Mermaid’s Tail Stamp Set , Mermaid's Tail Die Set and the grasses from the Otter Ware set.
I started by applying Broken China ink to the background and the frame using a wet baby wipe. I like the look the baby wipe gives. I stamped the underwater foliage using Peeled Paint ink. I heat set both the background and frame., applied Cosmic glitter glue with my finger to totally cover both and sprinkled with clear glitter glue. Next I stamped the mermaid image on the die cut and then lightly washed with a water pen. I heat set the ink, applied glue and sprinkled with glitter. The small shells were colored using a bit of Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey to create a coral appearance. I applied glue and glitter to them top make them sparkle like the whole image. The sentiment was stamped on vellum and embossed with gold embossing powder.
I began assembling the card by attaching the blue background layer to the card base using ATG adhesive. I attached strip of mounting tape to the back of the frame, attached the sentiment strip to the mounting tape and then attached the whole thing to the card base. I tucked the Mermaid’s Tail under the frame and attached with mounting tape. The tiny shells were attached with rolled up glue dots.. I finished by adding a few sparkling clear sequins.
The sentiments in this set are so cut and match perfectly with the whimsical Mermaid’s Tail. I appreciate you coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.
Oh, Kittie, this is just so adorable! You’ve done such a fabulous creative job with this. The sequins appear to look just like shimmering water bubbles . . . so precious and the shells are very realistic looking. I absolutely love this card! What little girl wouldn’t be thrilled to receive this adorable card on her birthday!!!
Good Afternoon,Kittie: this is an awesome card. The die is so unusual. I love how you made the tail come out of the card, like it would the water. Well done. Just an adorable card an so different….thanks for inspiration….Hugs
This is a delightful card, Kittie. Love how the tail sweeps off the card. Such a unique take. Thanks for sharing it.
