Color Challenge Flower Garden Scene

Good Tuesday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge to use Stampin’ Up! colors Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Fresh Fig and Vanilla.  I had to substitute Rose Red for the Fresh Fig. I hadn’t made a scene for a while using my Impression Obsession Wheelbarrow and decided these colors were perfect for a garden scene.   I used the All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2, Grass Border, Small Grass Border, Picket Fence, Foliage, Tiny Flowers, Small Bird Set and Branches Corner.

I cut the wheelbarrow using gray cardstock, colored the wheel and handlebars using a black Copic marker.  I applied Rusty Hinge over the wheelbarrow and then applied some black spots around the major points on it using a extra fine artist pen.  I smooshed the black spots and rust colors using a mini applicator to age the wheelbarrow. I attached sections of foliage to the wheelbarrow using glossy accents and double stick tape and then attached the formed tiny flowers to the branches using glossy accents.

I attached the grass borders to the back of the frame using double stick tape and then attached thin strips of mounting tape around the back of the frame.  The fence and branches corner were attached to the back of the frame and then the whole thing was attached to the card base. I attached tiny flowers along the grass border and in the branches using glossy accents.  I applied a light touch of red ink to the yellow birds to dull down the yellow a little but they look very orange in the pictures.  I attached the birds in the scene using glossy accents and mounting tape.

I love making flower garden scenes.  It is so much fun to start a project and see what it will finally evolve into.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day.
