Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession “Orange and Turquoise” design team color challenge. My project today is clean and simple and was made using the Sun Sand Sea die. I have been wanting to use this sentiment die and couldn’t figure out exactly what to do with it. I decided it would be bold and show up well in front of a beach scene if I used orange. I added some orange to my sun as well and used turquoise for my water.
I used mini applicators and an ink blending tool to create my little scene. I used Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass inks for the sand, sea and sky areas. I applied the sand area first and applied a straight mask across the sky to create the water line. I masked the sun with a punched out circle while I applied the sky. I removed the mask and placed the negative opening left from the punch and applied Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade to color the sun. While the open circle mask was still on the sun I applied cosmic glitter glue and sprinkled with clear glitter. I dabbed white embossing paste on the water and shore line with my finger and sprinkled more clear glitter on it while it was still wet. I sketched in a few sea oats sprigs with a green marker and then attached the die cut sentiment with touches of glossy accents.
