Good Sunday afternoon and welcome to day one of the Essentials by Ellen November release blog hop. If you just logged on to my post you can check out all the hop details over in The CLASSroom. Your next stop on the hop will be to Jennifer’s post.
My project today was made using Julie’s new Random Sayings paired with her Rustic Botanicals Stamp Set, Rustic Botanicals Die Set and framed with the Taylored Expressions Ornate Frame Cutting Plate.
I secured white cardstock and the flower stamp in my MISTI and stamped several flowers using Wild Honey ink, heat set and then cut them out. I used my scissors to cut in towards the flower center between each petal to help shape the flower. I used a mini applicator to apply Wild Honey ink over the whole flower. Then I lightly touched around the edges of the petals with a mini applicator and Spiced Marmalade ink to add depth of color. I applied Gathered Twig ink to the center of each flower using a mini applicator. I formed the flower petals using the largest stylus from the Garden Tool Kit and a molding pad. I used two flower sections for each flower and attached them together using glossy accents. The leaves were cut using Easter Grass cardstock. I added depth of color by applying a light touch of Peeled Paint to each leaf with a mini applicator. I formed the leaves using the stylus and molding pad. Once they were formed I lightly touched around the edges of the leaves with Vintage Photo ink to add definition.
I placed the card base and stamp in my MISTI and stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I love using my MISTI for stamping because I had to stamp twice to get perfect coverage. I could never do that by only using an acrylic block. I attached thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base. I attached the flowers and leaves to the frame using glossy accents. I love how the fall colored flowers pop against the all white frame and background.
The Random Sayings is so versatile with wonderful sentiments that can be used for many occasions. You can check out all the sets in the November Release here and I linked them below along with the other sets I used for my project today..
I hope you have a great Sunday and I appreciate you stopping by. Be sure to hop on over to Jennifer’s blog to see her wonderful project. And you can find the complete hop list and details at The CLASSroom.
