Good Tuesday morning. I have another nature inspired holiday card to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Brush Tree Line, Deer Snowglobe, Fir Sprigs and framed using the Penny Black Antique Frame. The Deer Snowglobe is a sweet die cut on it’s own but I wanted to create a complete scene around it. Adding the trees, blue sky and falling show made the whole scene come to life.
I cut the snowglobe using white cardstock. I colored the deer using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink and mini applicators. I applied tiny touches of Pumice Stone ink to the birch tree indentions using a mini applicator. I used a Nestabilities Classic Circle die to create the background layer for the scene. I secured my Brush Tree Line stamp and white circle in my MISTI and stamped the image using Peeled Paint ink. I used rolled strips of 1/8” double stick tape to attach the globe to the background layer. I cut abase portion of the globe using Essentials by Ellen Tan Woodgrain cardstock and applied Vintage Photo ink to darken the woodgrain. Sadly that doesn’t really show well in the photos. I applied white gesso to the snow ground section of the globe with a small brush. I used gesso to apply the falling snowflakes in the background. I tucked several pieces of fir sprigs in behind the ground layer and attached with glossy accents. I applied touches of white gesso to the branches to create a snowy forest feel. I finished the globe by attaching the woodgrain base with mounting tape.
The Antique Frame was attached to the card base with thin strips of mounting tape. The snowglobe was attached to the frame using double stick tape. I wanted to add another holiday touch to the card so I added fir sprigs, tiny 1/16” red berries and a tiny red bow to finish. I think this card would be pretty for anyone to receive but it would be a perfect card for a masculine friend or family member.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.
