Essentials by Ellen Dec 2017 banner

Good Wednesday morning and welcome to day one of the Essentials by Ellen December release blog hop.  If you just logged on to my post you can check out all the hop details over in The CLASSroom.  Your next stop on the hop will be to Carly’s post.

My project today was made using Julie’s Banner Cake die set, Cue The Confetti stamp set, Otter Ware die set and the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.

I cut the Banner cake out once in Robin’s Egg and again in white.  I applied versa to the white piece and embossed with white embossing powder, allowed it to cool and repeated apply versa and embossing with white powder.  I wanted the scroll work and outline of the cake to stand out like frosting.  I cut the top banner portion off of the blue piece, turned it over and secured all the blue scroll work and outline in place with double stick tape.  I wanted those pieces to be in place so the white layers would stand out well above the blue layer.  I applied Apple Green and Sugared Almond Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss to the little white banner flags and set it aside to dry.  I cut out pieces of the star and flower from the Otter Ware set in green and yellow, formed them using my stylus and molding pad and attached the pieces together using glossy accents.  I filled each flower with White Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss and set them aside to dry.

I placed the sentiment stamp and white scalloped layer in my MISTI and stamped the sentiment using Mustard Seed ink. I began assembling the card by attaching the large yellow scalloped layer to my card base using ATG adhesive.  I attached the blue and white scalloped layer together using thin strips of mounting tape and then attached it to the yellow layer with thin strips of mounting tape. I applied long strips of rolled up double stick tape to the back of the white scroll work and cake outline and attached it in place of the blue layer.   I applied tiny thin pieces of mounting tape to the back of the banner posts and flags and double stick tape to the back portion of the cake and attached it to the white base.  I finished by attaching the tiny flowers to the cake using glossy accents.

  1. Hi Kittie!
Hate to bother you with this, but could you help me again, with the I.O. contact? I have been trying to contact them for my win with the Valentines Blog Hop & can’t access anyone’s e-mails! UGH! I just need to let them know my e-mail… If they could contact me through you? I left a message the other day on Jeanne’s blog- a comment, but I think she hasn’t caught it. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!
