I have such a good time making projects using die cut paper flowers and butterflies. Layering them on a dimensional frame adds so much interest to the card front. Rubbernecker Stamps has begun carrying a line of individual image dies along with several new nesting, layering and frame dies. Oh boy! I love new dies! I am excited that Rubbernecker let me put together a Kittie Kraft Basics bundle of dies that I like to use over and over on my projects and it’s offered with a 10% discount.
My project today was made using the Rubbernecker Square Stitch One Piece Combined Die Cut Frame 5121D, Mixable Flower Stack 5109D, and the Small Leaf Group Die 5110D and Small Butterfly 5100-08D from the Kittie Kraft Basics.
The square stitch frame cuts out five individual frames. I cut the frames and attached the three largest frames together on the back with double stick tape. I applied strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base.
I cut three sets of the flower die, three butterflies and several sections of foliage. I used the smaller end of the stylus from my Garden Tool Kit and molding pad to form the petals on the flowers. Each flower section is placed face down on the molding pad and I use the round stylus to push down and roll around to curl each petal individually. I use glossy accents to attach the sections of flowers together to create the full flower. The leaves were placed face up on the molding pad and gently rounded with the stylus.
The flowers were attached to the card base just inside the frame with glossy accents. I tucked the foliage under the flowers using glossy accents. I use my paper pierce tool to push the foliage pieces under the flowers to secure in place. I keep a small craft sheet full of Nuvo Crystal Drops made up to use on my projects I don’t have to wait for them to dry. I white Nuvo Crystal Drops to fill in the flower centers and on the body of the butterflies. I created an antenna for each of the butterflies using small pieces metallic gold string attached with glue dots and then attached them in place on the card to finish.
Do you like the flowers and frame that I used today? Check out the 15% discount bundle for the Square Stitch One Piece Combined Die Cut Frame 5121D and Mixable Flower Stack 5109D. The card bundle offer will end on Friday. You can find the bundles and individual die sets linked below.
Thank you so much for coming by today. I hope you enjoyed seeing my tutorial and have been inspired to make your own die cut paper flowers and butterflies project.
