I have been having fun making die cut butterfly wings with flowers lately. There is something so beautiful and elegant about the delicate decorative butterfly shape in white layered over a colored butterfly base. I especially love the all white frame and background and how it allows the blue base and flowers pop. My project today was made using the Rubbernecker 947-01B 2 Part Butterfly #2, 5119D Nested Circle Scallop w/ Holes, 5022D Nested Circle w/ Pierce Die, 5110D Small Leaf Group and 5114D Mini Flower Stack. Both the Small Leaf Group and Mini Flower Stack dies are included in the Kittie Kraft Basics bundle.
Assembling the Frame
I started by creating the double matted frame using the two circle die sets. I used the Nested Circle w/ Pierce die for the inner mat but you won’t see any pierce marks. I wanted the mat to be a little wider than normal and that die was the perfect size. The two frame layers were attached together using mounting tape and were then attached to the card base with another layer of mounting tape.
Assembling the Die Cut Butterfly Wings and Flowers
The white decorative butterfly was attached to the blue base with a piece of mounting tape and then both were attached to the card base with another piece of mounting tape. The foliage and flowers were attached to the butterfly using glossy accents and then I added small pre made white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower center and attached with glossy accents. I finished by pulling up slightly on the wings of the white layer to create more dimension. I think this is butterfly is so elegant and can be used for so many occasions when you need a feminine card.
I sure do appreciate you coming by today. Do you have some pretty layering butterfly dies? There are so many ways to use them to create gorgeous and elegant cards. I hope you have been inspired to create your own project using die cut butterfly wings with flowers and foliage.
