Essentials by Ellen Hot Mess Lady

Good Monday morning.  My project today is a die cut girl scene made using the newly released Essentials by Ellen Hot Mess Lady Stamp Set and Hot Mess Lady Die Set.  The sentiments in this set are so fun.  I chose to use the “Messy Bun & Getting Stuff Done”.  The lady is all organized and ready to roll with her calendar, files and day planner and let’s not ignore those pencils in her messy bun.

Creating a scene with a girl die cut is fun.

The Die Cut Girl

I stamped the girls a couple times on watercolor paper and again on designer paper using black versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I water colored her face, arms and hands using a watercolor brush and reinkers. I cut out the images using my snips and pieced the designer parts over the girl body and attached using glue dots. I cut an extra elbow arm portion out of the designer paper and popped it up to create an additional layer of dimension.

The Organizational Accessories

The day planner, files, calendar, pens and pencil pieces were stamped several times each using black versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut the calendar and files pieces out, layered and attached them together using glossy accents. I colored the tabs of the files using Memento Markers and scribbled a few lines on the calendar with red and black markers.  I folded back the pages of the calendar and bent forward the tabs of the files to add a little bit of dimension. I cut a slit on both sides of the planner closure and inserted the top of one pen in one side and the bottom of a pen in the other side and attached them in place on the back side with glue dots.  I attached the pencils in the lady’s hair with glossy accents.  The drink cup and energy bar were stamped , cut out and colored using markers.

Creating a scene with a girl die cut is fun and creative.

Assembling the Scene

The sentiment was stamped on the designer card base using black versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I attached the two frame sections to the card base using strips of mounting tape.  I attached the girl, planner, calendar and files to the card base using pieces of mounting tape and finished by attaching the drink cup and energy bar with glue dots.

Creating a scene with a girl die cut is creative and fun.

  2. I read in your description that you cut this out using your ‘snips’ which I assume is some kind of scissors. I am wondering which kind you use. I didn’t see anything in your product list to match this. Thank you!

  3. Good Afternoon, Kittie; had a little chuckle when I saw your card. because that is what I have been doing sorting and cleaning out my file cabinet. Had to chuckle because I hate office work, would rather be creating instead. ,,, love your card…..I needed the chuckle,,,,,,,,hugs
