Good Friday morning. I have a fun star die cuts card to share with you today using the Rubbernecker 5127D Stars Die. I don’t know about you but I have a very difficult time getting good pictures when I use lots of shiny gold images on my cards. The metallic gold star die cuts and gold star background on the Kraft cardstock shine perfectly in person. The photos certainly don’t do them justice.
The Card Base
I cut a 6″ square piece of the Bazzill Specialty Paper and attached it to the card base using ATG adhesive. I cut strips of the metallic gold cardstock and attached them to the back of the vanilla strips with ATG adhesive and then attached the layer to the card base using mounting tape. I The vanilla base would create the perfect background for the stars and the strips of gold adding one more element of interest to the design.
Assembling the Star Die Cuts
I cut the star die twice using the metallic gold cardstock. One was attached to the card base using small pieces of mounting tape. I attached a few of the stars back in place on the card base using mounting tape. I finished by adding several stars on both sides of the star layer using mounting tape.
This was a pretty fast and easy card to make. I think the die would be so fun to use with red, white and blue for a patriotic card and any other colors for celebrating birthdays or other celebratory occasions. I hope you have been inspired to get out your own star die cuts to create your own star filled card? Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.

I’m with you, Kittie! It IS DIFFICULT to get good pictures with shiny paper, etc.! BUUUT, you did a GREAT JOB on this, with the different angles of photos! 😉 AND I LOVE ALL of the SHINY STARS!!! 😉 SO PRETTY!!! 😉
Très jolie carte qui obtiendra un joli succès pour les fêtes de fin d’année. Gros bisous et bonne soirée !
Kittie,
This is such a super card. And I don’t have the dies… oh dear, you know what that means…
Those stars will make for some great 4th of July cards too.
Thank you for sharing your creativity
Like everything you do, Kittie, this one is exquisite, too. The reflections and shadows on the gold look brilliant. Even your photography is exquisite. How do you set up your cards for the photo shoot? What kind of camera/setting do you use. (I’m such a rookie!) Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Thank you Jane! I use a Fujifilm S8200 FinePix camera. I basically use it as a point and shoot. I have lights set up over my work area and set a white cloth up with my card under the lights to take my pics. I am not really much of a photographer because I have a terrible time understanding all the complexities of my camera. I am technically challenged. LOL!
great festive card, and like way you added some of the star centers back in
