Welcome to the Impression Obsession Send a Little Humor “funny or punny” design team challenge. I don’t have lots of funny or punny sentiment stamps or dies so I created punny card using a snow globe along beach scene die cuts to create a summer water scene. The Sea Life Frame and Tubers dies are from the latest Impression Obsession die release.
The Snow Globe
I cut the snow globe image using white cardstock and used mini applicator to apply the hybrid inks listed below. I especially love how the Seafoam ink is a match to the Bazzill Robin’s Egg cardstock that I used for the card base. I applied white embossing paste to the blue snow globe background using my finger and then sprinkled it with clear glitter. I wanted the water to look all foamy and sparkly. I cut several sections of the small grass and attached it to the bottom base portion of the snow globe with glossy accents. I cut a second lower portion of the snow globe and colored it to create a sandy beach base and attached it to the snow globe with mounting tape.
The Tuber and the Birds
I cut the tuber guy once using white cardstock and colored using Copic and Memento markers. I used a dark gray marker to color the wings of the birds.
The Bendi Frame Application
I cut the Sea Life Frame just about 1/8″ larger than the A2 card base so I could create a Bendi Frame for the scene. I attached mounting tape to both sides of the frame and attached the left side in place first. Next I bowed the frame slightly and then attached the right side. If you would like to see step by step how I made this frame you can see my Bendi Frame video in the Splitcoaststampers tutorial page.
Assembling the Beach Scene Die Cuts
Once the frame was attached I tucked the snow globe in behind the frame and attached with pieces of mounting tape. I slipped the tuber in behind the grass sections and attached in place with double stick tape at the bottom and small pieces of mounting tape on the body and head area. The sea gulls were attached in place with glossy accents and mounting tape for the finishing touch.
