Good Sunday morning. I have a colorful die cut flamingo scene card to share with you today made using Impression Obsession dies. Before I start my post I wanted to remind you of the 20% off Flash Sale being held this weekend. The sale ends tonight at midnight.
My card was using the new Flamingo Set, Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames, Branches Corner, Grass, Leaves and Stems and Tiny Five Petals.
Building the Scene
I started by attaching two frame sections together using double stick tape and then I cut two tall grass sections and a corner branch and attached them to the back of the frame. I used an ink blending tool and Tumbled Glass ink to apply the blue water line to the background scene and then finished by using a cloud stencil to create light shadowy clouds. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame, attached the scene layer and then attached the whole framed scene to the card base using ATG adhesive.
Die Cut Flamingo Scene
I cut the flamingos using white cardstock and colored them using mini applicators and Spun Sugar, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick ink. The wings were attached to the bird body using rolled up glue dots. The beaks were colored with a black Copic marker. I cut the feet shorter on both flamingos to make them fit in the scene better and attached them to the background using pieces of mounting tape. I cut the flowers using yellow cardstock, lightly applied Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick ink to make them match the birds and formed them using my stylus and molding pad. I attached the flowers to the stems using glossy accents and then tucked them in behind the frame and attached using glossy accents. I finished by applying a few flowers to the corner branch to draw the eye up and add another element of color to the scene.
I had so much fun making this colorful die cut flamingo scene card. I hope you have time to get your inks, stamps and dies out to play this weekend. Thanks so much for coming by.
