My project today is a die cut framed potted plant and flowers made using dies by Rubbernecker Stamps. I had all the supplies on my desk from the Window Card with Flower Pots project that I posted a couple of days ago and thought I would make another using the same colors and images. The two cards would be pretty framed and hung together as a wall decoration. I used the 5122D Rectangle Stitch OPC, 5128D Tree Panel #2, 5118D Leaf Group, 5147-05D Flower Stems, 5147-08D Small Butterflies, 5147-09D Flower Buds, 5147-10D Tiny Flower Buds, 5147-16D Tall Terracotta Pots and 5152-03D Grass Set.
The Frame
I cut the frame, attached the two largest sections together using double stick tape and then attached the grass section to the back of the frame. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base.
The Terracotta Pot
I cut the largest pot in the set using yellow cardstock and then applied Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo Distress Ink using mini applicators. Using the yellow cardstock and inks allows me to create the highlighted appearance of old worn terracotta pots that have been well used.
Die Cut Framed Potted Plant
I cut out two tree panels, cut them apart to create several individual branches. There are leaves that are attached to the frame border but I just trim around them with my snips to free them and keep the edges of the branches in tact. I began the arrangement by attaching the shorter branches to the back of the pot first using glossy accents and then attaching the taller branches behind them.
The Flowers and Butterflies
I used my stylus and molding pad to form the flowers and attached them to the branches using glossy accents. I secured a few flower stems to overflow from the front of the pot and then attached several tiny flowers around the arrangement. I applied white pre made Nuvo Crystal Drops to the center of the larger flowers and the butterflies and attached in place with glossy accents. I attached the butterflies in place around the scene to finish.
Have you been inspired to create your own die cut framed potted plant and flowers? I hope so. Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a great week.
