I’m celebrating the new Essentials by Ellen Leading Lady release with a fun campfire scene using the Woodsy Lady Clear Stamp set and Woodsy Lady Die set paired with several Impression Obsession dies. I will list all of the stamp and die sets in the release below.
The Woodsy Lady
I started by securing the stamps and paper in my MISTI, stamped using black versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped some of the clothes sections a couple of times so I could paper piece over the woodsy lady base layer. I colored the lady using distress reinkers and an aqua brush and cut her out by hand so there wouldn’t be any white border around her. I cut out the clothes sections and attached using glossy accents and glue dots. I stamped the lady’s head a second time so I could piece it over the base and allow the pigtails to be free over the vest.
The Framed Scene
I cut the tree frame using white cardstock and applied Vintage Photo ink directly to the trunk and branches using the ink to paper technique. I lightly rubbed the ink around a little with a wet baby wipe and then dried with my heat gun. I cut a couple sections of the tiny leaves and attached them all around the branches glossy accents. I cut a grass border and attached it to the back of the red frame using double stick tape, I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame, attached the tree frame and then attached it to the blue card base. I had cut a couple extra branches of the tree and secured more leaves so I could tuck them in around the base of the scene to fill in for a more woodsy look.
I hand cut a few rocks using gray cardstock and colored lightly with Vintage Photo ink and a mini applicator. I die cut two sections of the fire, applied Wild Honey ink and then covered with glossy accents and clear glitter. I attached the rocks around the fire sections using glue dots and then secured them in the scene with pieces of mounting tape.
Completing the Scene
I attached two pieces of square white cardstock to one of the tree branches using glossy accents and then applied Liquid Applique to the squares to create the puff look of marshmallows. I attached it to the Woodsy Lady and then attached her to the frame using mounting tape. I made sure to line up the marshmallows so they would appear to be over the fire. I finished the scene by attaching the thermos and binoculars with mounting tape. Sad that the binoculars don’t show up well in the pictures. I do love that the fir looks sparkly.
