Today I’m sharing a flower pots garden card using several Rubbernecker dies that mimic the pretty garden themed designer paper background. I used the Watering Can, Tall Buckets, Cart Accessories #1, Small Ivy, Tiny Flower Buds, Picket Fence, Deckle Hills, Flower Stems and Borders #1. The background paper is from the Carta Bella Flower Market 6 x 6 paper pack.
It is always fascinating and very irritating to me that my camera sometimes gets a mind of it’s own and refuses to photograph my card’s true colors. Or maybe it’s that my naked eye doesn’t see the true colors when I’m putting my card together. The vanilla cream cardstock that I used for the fence and top border seemed to be a perfect match to my eye but the camera decided it was much creamier than the background paper. Sometimes you just can’t beat the camera and all the photo editing in the world will not fix the problem. LOL!
The Fence, Grass Layer and Decorative Border
- Cut the picket fence and border using cream cardstock.
- Use green cardstock to cut the grass layer.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the fence and border and attach them to the card base.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the grass layer and attach to the card base,
The Flower Pots, Watering Can and Bucket
- Cut the flower pots using yellow cardstock.
- Use gray cardstock to cut the bucket and watering can.
- Apply Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo ink to the flower pots using mini applicators.
- Apply Pumice Stone ink to the watering can and bucket using a mini applicator.
The Flowers and Foliage
- Cut the tiny flower buds using pink, yellow and red cardstock.
- Form the flowers using a small tipped stylus and molding pad.
- Cut the small ivy and flower stems using green cardstock.
- Arrange small ivy along the grass layer and attach using glossy accents.
- Apply glossy accents to the foliage and attach to the back of the bucket, watering can and flower pots.
- Create triple flowers by attaching the flowers to scrap cardstock with glossy accents, allow the glue to dry and then trim around the flowers using snips.
- Use glossy accents to attach the tiny flowers and triple flowers to the foliage.
Finish the Flower Pots Garden
- Create two stacks of three flower pots and attach them together using glossy accents.
- Attach both stacks of pots to the card base using strips of mounting tape.
- Tuck the watering can, bucket and flower pots in behind the grass layer and attach with mounting tape.
- Finish the card by cutting a set of red garden boots, apply tiny white dots using a gel pen to match the boots in the background paper and attach to the grass layer using mounting tape.
I never seem to tire of creating projects like this flower pots garden card. I have been having lots of fun using decorative designer paper backgrounds for my cards lately. The paper I used today is quite busy and I added lots of busy touches with my scene but I think it all goes together well. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Very beautiful card – love all the images that mimic the pretty background paper. Your detail always amazes me and even if I don’t comment often, I still check out your marvelous creations!
I know what you mean about colors looking like they’re the same, then realizing, “not so much!” . But as fashion stylists Clinton Kelly and Stacy London say, ” Colors don’t have to match, they only have to go (together). Works for me!
I love you cards and would never have the patience to makethem, but I get inspiration from them! Thanks for posting!
This is adorable!!!!! I love it!
Great scene you have made, I never would have thought to use that busy paper behind it but it looks great!
Oh my! This is such a sweet card with the garden themed paper and the lovely die cuts in front to make the fun little garden. Looks like the gardener just stepped away for a minute. You always create so much detail and depth in your beautiful designs.
Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring! 🙂
