I had so much fun making this vintage fire truck and fire house card. The truck looks so much like I remember from my youth. Yes…..I am that old. And, I love the architecture of the vintage fire house. The Old Fire Truck and Old Fire House from the Rubbernecker March Release. I used the Winter Tree, Small Ivy, Leaf Group, Tiny Flower Buds, Grass, Clouds and Small Birds to create the complete scene.
The Fire Truck and Fire House
- Cut the fire truck sections using red, black, yellow and white cardstock.
- Assemble the truck pieces and attach them together using glossy accents.
- Cut the firehouse sections using red and Kraft cardstock.
- Use Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo ink to apply shading to the brick door arches and window frames using mini applicators.
- Assemble the fire house pieces and attach them together using glossy accents. Tuck a piece of gray cardstock on the back side of the windows and attach using mounting tape.
Build the Scene
- Use Kraft cardstock to cut the tree, apply Antique Linen ink to the tree and then attach the leaves using glossy accents.
- Cut two grass strips using green cardstock and a gray strip to use for the street.
- Attach the gray strips to the card base using ATG adhesive.
- Tuck one grass strip behind the gray strip and attach using ATG adhesive and attach one in front of the gray strip using mounting tape. Note: I wanted the truck to appear being parked on the street,
- Attach the fire house to the card base using mounting tape.
- Apply mounting tape to the back of the clouds and attach them to the card base.
- Use strips of mounting tape to attach the tree to the card base.
- Attach the truck to the card base using strips of mounting tape.
- Cut the green branches and attach them to the left side of the fire house using glossy accents. Attach tiny red flowers and attach to the branches.
- Finish by attaching birds to the card base using small pieces of mounting tape.
Do you have a fireman in your family that would love a card made using this vintage fire truck and fire house? I think they are so fun and such realistic yet cartoony versions of trucks and fire houses. Check out this Pinterest link for more vintage fire truck inspiration. Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

No firemen in our family, but I still LOVE this Fire Truck! It would also make a NICE little boy card, or boy baby card! SUPER SWEET, Kittie!!! Yes, I’m “that old” too! LOL I LOVE the vintage look too!!! I also like the way Rubber Necker creates their dies, all the “pieces” in ONE DIE, so you don’t loose those little ones! VERY WELL thought out!!! STAY WELL DEAR FRIEND & keep on Crafting!!! ;)<3
