Happy Easter! Who wouldn’t love to receive this precious baby ducks for Easter card? I have made similar cards every spring for the last several years. The sweet images and soft colors always make me happy. I may have gone a little overboard with butterflies but I just couldn’t help myself.
For this project I used the Rectangle Combo #2, Nested Scallop with Holes, Ducks, Leaf Group, Grass #2, Small Butterflies and Tiny Flower Buds. Note: I had two strips of frame from the Nested Scallop with Holes from my bunny project yesterday so I used them as grass layers. I thought the stitched and scallop layers looked cute for grass.
The Frame and Grass Layers
- Cut the frame layers using white and purple cardstock.
- Turn them face down and attach the sections together using double stick tape.
- Apply strips of mounting tape around the back of the frame and attach the two grass sections to the bottom of the frame.
- Attach the frame to the white card base.
The Leaves, Grass Sprigs and Tiny Flowers
- Cut the grass springs and leaves using green cardstock.
- Use pink, yellow and purple cardstock to cut the tiny flower buds.
- Form the tiny flowers using a small tipped stylus and molding pad.
- Tuck the grass sprigs and leaves in behind the grass layers and attach using glossy accents.
- Attach the tiny flowers to the grass sprigs using glossy accents.
The Ducks and Butterflies
- Cut the mother duck using white cardstock and the baby ducks using yellow cardstock.
- Use pink cardstock to cut the small butterflies.
- Apply Pumpkin ink from the Color Fuse #2 set to color the duck bills and leg and lightly shade the baby ducks using a mini applicator.
- Decorate the mother duck with two tiny leaves and a tiny flower and attach using glossy accents.
- Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the ducks and attach them in the scene and on the frame.
- Finish the card by attaching the small butterflies using glossy accents.
I had such a good time making this baby ducks for Easter card. Do you have certain themed dies and/or stamps that you use over and over during special seasons. I sure do. Bunnies and ducks for Easter, deer, snow and poinsettias for Christmas. You can see more of my duck cards at this link. They are all very similar but a little different. You can find more ducks for Easter inspiration at this Pinterest link. Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a blessed Easter.
