Die Cut Butterfly Embellishments

When I make simple cards I love to add a touch of elegance with die cut butterfly embellishments.  To make the butterfly even prettier I add a few small stems and flowers.  To make this card I used the Rectangle Combo #2, Butterfly #3, Small Flowers #3, Flower Stems and Best Friends.

The Frame and Sentiment

• Use white cardstock to cut the A2 sized card base.
• Stamp the sentiment on the card base using versa and emboss it with gold embossing power.
• Cut the frame layers using white and purple cardstock.
• Turn the frames face down and attach them all together using double stick tape.
• Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the frames and attach it to the card base.

The Butterfly, Stems and Flowers

• Use white and purple cardstock to cut the two butterfly layers.
• Attach the white butterfly to the purple butterfly using glossy accents.

• Cut flower stems and trim the ends off to shorten to fit on the butterfly.
• Attach three stems to the butterfly using glossy accents.

• Cut small flower using purple cardstock.
• Form the flowers using a small tipped stylus and molding pad.
• Attach the flowers to the stems using glossy accents.

• Attach white pre made Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers using glossy accents.
• Note:  I apply Nuvo Crystal Drops to a small piece of craft sheet to have for my projects.  They stay attached on the sheet until I’m ready to use them.  I pick them up with the tip of my paper piercer and attach them in place with glossy accents.
