No one wants a reason to make handmade sympathy cards, but I find that making and sending one is a lovely way to express your kind feelings. And because of the nature of the occasion, handmade sympathy cards can be created very simply and still share deep emotion. This card was fast and easy to make if you wanted to make a few extra to have on hand. To make this card I used the Rubbernecker Open Range set and Kittie Says Phrases #1.
The Trees and Sentiment
- Cut the scene layer using white cardstock.
- Use green pigment ink to stamp the tree image two times across the white layer.
- Stamp the sentiment using green pigment ink.
- Apply clear embossing powder to the trees and sentiment and heat.
- Apply light blue ink to the sky area around the trees using a large blender brush.
- Attach the aqua layer to the scene layer using ATG adhesive.
- Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the scene layer and attach it to the card base.
Creating and sending handmade sympathy cards feels really nice and when the people on the other end receive them, they are sure to feel all your love and caring.
