If you are down to the wire and need to make some quick handmade Valentine cards, this one is super fast and easy and is just SO cute! It’s a CAS (Clean And Simple) from one of my own cards that you can see here with a little less work. For this card I used Rubbernecker’s Nested Scallop with Half Holes, Flower #3, Slimline OPC Hearts (the tiny red hearts) and Kittie Says Phrases #1.
Card Base and Sentiment
- Cut the A2 sized card base and scalloped rectangle using white cardstock.
- Secure the scalloped rectangle and sentiment stamp in the Misti, apply Nocturne ink and stamp.
- Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the scalloped rectangle and attach it to the card base.
The Valentine Bouquet
- Use green cardstock to cut the Flowers #3.
- Cut the Slimline OPC Hearts using red cardstock.
- Gather the small hearts and keep the large slimline section for a future use.
- Trim the flowers with your scissors but leaving enough to secure the hearts to.
- Use glossy accents to attach the hearts to the trimmed flower sections.
- Place the stem of hearts face down on the molding pad and round each heart gently by pushing down with a large stylus.
- Cut small pieces of mounting tape and attach double layers of the tape to the back of heart so they would stand away from the card base.
- Apply a couple glue dots to the back bottom of the stem and secure the stem full of hearts to the card base.
Do you remember you making handmade Valentine cards from when you were a kid? These are a step up and you will LOVE making them. And they are perfect for sending any time you want to send a little love – make a few to have on hand!
