A Bright And Fresh Handmade Tropical Fish Card!

Send this handmade tropical fish card to celebrate summer!

You wouldn’t think a handmade tropical fish card could serve as an all-occasion card but I think this one is perfect for just about any summer greeting! Add a “Thank You” or a “Happy Birthday” or a “You’re Invited” – most anything would work and this card is so fun to make you might want to add a couple extra to your crafting to-do list.

this handmade tropical fish card with its three windows sharing delightful details can be used for many occasions

The Slimline Frame, Fish Scales and Background

  • Use white cardstock to cut an 8.50″ x 7.00″ card base and the Slimline OPC Scallop frame.
  • Use aqua cardstock to cut the Slimline OPC Fish Scale section.
  • Cut the Fish Scale piece into three sections and attach them to the back of the frame openings using double stick tape.  Pro Tip:  The Fish Scale was made to use vertically. Cutting it into the three sections allowed me to use it on a horizontal card.  I liked the idea of seeing the fish swim across the full length of the card.  It’s fun to modify how I use my dies to make them more versatile.
  • Cut a 7.75″ x 2.75″  piece pf light blue cardstock and attach it to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the card base.

The Fish and Turtles

  • Cut the Tropical Fish and Sea Animals turtles and fish using brightly colored cardstock and black for the eyes.
  • Assemble the fish pieces and attach them together using glossy accents.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the three large fish and attach them to the fish scales.
  • Apply tiny pop dots to the back of the turtles and small fish and attach them to the card base and fish scales.
