Easy to make classy cards don’t have to look basic!
You all know I love to make cards that are little scenes with tons of details and that “basic” is not really in my design vocabulary. At the same time, I do love to make cards that don’t take forever but I want them to look just as special as my other style. This idea for easy to make classy cards gets all its wow factor from a new cover die from Rubbernecker with a single bloom made with another new die set.
This truly was the easiest card to make! All I did was use a piece of pretty patterned paper for the background, added that new Circle Stitch Cover die cut with little pieces of foam tape and added that Stackable Flowers and Leaves #2 layered flower to the center. Done! Let me take you through this in a little more detail because once you get your hands on these dies and make one of these cards, I promise you will not want to stop!
Easy Classy Card
- Cut an A2 sized piece of designer paper and attach it to an A2 white card base using ATG adhesive.
- Use white cardstock to cut the Circle Stitch Cover, apply strips of mounting tape around the frame border and pieces of mounting tape along the circles and attach it to the card base.
- Cut the Stackable Flowers and Leaves #2 flower sections using red cardstock and green cardstock to cut the leaves. Pro Tip: Use a shim or extra piece of cardstock when cutting to make sure the embossed lines show well on the leaves.
- Place the flower sections face down on the molding pad and roll over the petals using a large round stylus.
- Turn them face up and push down in the flower centers using a small tipped stylus.
- Attach the flower layers together using glossy accents making sure to offset each layer.
- Apply a generous amount of glossy accents to the back of the flower and attach it to the card base.
- Tuck the leaves under the flower and attach using glossy accents.
- Finish by attaching a yellow circle to the center using a tiny pop dot.

You see why I say save this idea for easy to make classy cards that you can use for so many occasions, right? You could make a huge stack of card bases with just the patterned paper and the raised die cut and then add flowers as you go. Or you can also add other elements to that center circle…..say, a butterfly. Or use ANY patterned paper in the background and match any die cut element – I am envisioning paw print paper with a pupper! This idea’s only limit is your imagination!
I love that patterned paper and how you matched the focal point flower to match- very beautiful!
Love your card. I got the makings and have done a couple of cards, but my papers are not as good as yours. I’ve made up several 🌺 🌸 but guess I should have made them to match something in particular.😁. Always can recognize your beautiful work. Nobody does it better! Thank you.
