Today I am sharing another idea of super cute handmade Christmas cards, farmhouse style to capture those rustic details!
I’ve been seeing lots of handmade Christmas cards farmhouse style this year which makes me even more thrilled to have my hands on the new Festive Farmhouse 6×6 Paper Pad, to make today’s card and this card from the other day. There’s something so charming and nostalgic about these farmhouse style projects and I love that I can swap out the die cut decorations over just about every single pattern in the paper pad and have the most adorable cards!
For this project, I also used Santa’s Sleigh, Greenery #1, Christmas Mini and Santa Mini. I love the pattern on the designer paper and wanted to mimic the sleighs with presents and evergreen trees. I kept the same muted color combination for a rustic country feel and since this is the color story of all the image patterns in the collection of printed card stock, I can keep it simple! Let me show you all the little details in the making.
Card Base and Sentiment
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base.
- Cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ designer layer from the Festive Farmhouse pad.
- Attach the designer paper to the card base using ATG adhesive.
- Cut a 4.25″ x .75″ strip of white cardstock and a 4.25″ x 1.00″ strip of green cardstock.
- Stamp the Merry Christmas on the white strip using Shady Lane ink.
- Attach the white strip to the green using ATG adhesive.
- Apply a strip of mounting tape to the back of the sentiment strip and attach it to the card base.
Sleigh, Evergreen and Presents
- Cut Santa’s Sleigh sections using white woodgrain cardstock.
- Color the sections using a light shade of Vintage Photo ink and a wet baby wipe.
- Adhere the sections together using Connect glue.
- Use white cardstock to cut the present tops and boxes and attach them together using glossy accents.
- Apply tiny gold dots to the presents using a gold gel pen.
- Tie tiny bows using green string and attach them to the presents using glossy accents. Pro Tip: I didn’t have any thin string so I unraveled one string away from a piece of white bakers twine and colored it with a green alcohol marker.
- Attach the present to the back of the sleigh using glossy accents.
- Create a tree like evergreen arrangement by attaching Greenery #1 branches to the back of the sleigh using glossy accents.
- Use gold cardstock to cut the tiny star and punch out tiny ornaments and attach them to the arrangement using glossy accents.
Here’s what I used to make this card – remember you can mix and match this design and the layered tiny tree from this card with all the patterns in the Paper Pad:
