A Beautiful Quick and Easy Handmade Card!

Not only can you make this beautiful quick and easy handmade card in mere minutes, it’s got a cost savings secret you will LOVE!

I just love how this beautiful quick and easy handmade card turned out! And when I tell you how much it costs to make, you might not believe me! What if I said you could make 24 of these stunners for about $2 each? TRUE!

I used Rubbernecker’s new Delightful Dahlia 6×6 Paper Pad and their new coordinating Delightful Dahlia Die Set, which cuts out the dahlia and leaf elements from the 12 sheets in the pad with nothing but these gorgeous blooms. I used their Nested Rectangle with Square Holes for the white layer, but you can use any die you have that you love. I also popped on a sentiment – this one is from It’s Spring Time and I am SURE you have some that you love to use.

Let me take you through the steps so you can see that I am being 100% honest when I say anyone can make this card in minutes!

A beautiful quick and easy handmade card created by die cutting preprinted flowers and leaves that look freshly stamped.

Card Base and Sentiment Layer

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base.
  • Cut one of the beautiful patterns from the Delightful Dahlia 6×6 Paper Pad designer paper to 5.50″ x 4.25″.
  • Attach the  designer paper to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Use white cardstock to cut the Nested Rectangle with Square Holes (or whatever die you are using) layer.
  • Secure the white layer and the It’s Spring Time sentiment (or your pick) in the MISTI and stamp using Nocturne ink.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the sentiment layer and attach it to the card base.

You can create this beautiful quick and easy handmade card in just minutes by cutting out the printed flowers that look as if they've just been stamped and adhering them over a simple die cut layer.

Dahlia Flowers and Leaves

  • Remove one of the bright pink Delightful Dahlia flower pages from the pad.
  • Loosely trim out one set of the large and small flowers and leaves leaving enough space around to die cut them.
  • Line up the dies over the flowers and leaves, secure them in place using masking tape and cut them out.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the flowers and attach them to the sentiment layer.
  • Tuck the leaf sections under the flowers and attach them in place using pieces of mounting tape.

The flowers on today's beautiful quick and easy handmade card only LOOK freshly stamped - they are preprinted to be die cut and layered onto cards for a gorgeous look.
Does it get any easier? And I just love how Rubbernecker created these flowers to look as if they were stamped! It reminds me of that ad “No one will know. How are they going to know?”

Here’s what I used today from Rubbernecker – if you already have a layer die set you like and sentiments you want to use, your product total will be less than $30 and you can make 24 of these beauties from that purchase. And if you get more than one paper pad to use with the coordinating die, your cards can cost pennies each to make!

  1. Darn! I just had an occasion that this would have been perfect (coworker is retiring and loves dahlias and I had to make her goodbye card). This is gorgeous.

But I did use the basis of one of your cards as my model and everyone thinks it’s pretty.

  2. I have a hard time doing these flowers! The stamps that need a red are very hard too see when the stamp gets stained. I’ve only been able to do one that is good enough to use. I don’t give up easily though so I just keep trying.

    • Rannah, the flowers on this project were die cut from a pre stamped paper pad. Rubbernecker released them last month. Delightful Dahlia 6×6 Paper Pad and coordinating Delightful Dahlia Die Set. They were very easy to cut out for a quick and easy card. I hope this helps.
