Make a Cute Die Cut Cuckoo Clock Card!

Come see how you can make this really cute die cut cuckoo clock card using a clever die.

I just love all the adorable details on my die cut cuckoo clock card and I love them even more because they were made with the Shed Cuckoo Clock Add On die from Rubbernecker that was designed to perfectly complement their versatile Shed die. I really love when companies come out with these accessory dies so you can get so much more value, use and creativity out of an investment you’ve already made. I added a layer using their Nested Rectangle with Square Holes, die and popped on a sentiment from the sweet and sassy Cuckoo For You stamp set.

Card Base and Sentiment

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and the Nested Rectangle with Square Holes section.
  • Cut a red 5.50″ x 4.25″ layer and attach it to the card base using ATG adhesive.  Pro Tip: I like to use white cardstock for my card bases so I can stamp a sentiment inside.
  • Secure the rectangle layer in the MISTI and stamp the Cuckoo For You sentiment using Nocturne ink.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the rectangle layer and attach it to the card base.

The Cuckoo Clock

  • Use tan woodgrain, red, white and black cardstock to cut the Cuckoo Clock accessory pieces.
  • Attach the white scallop roof section to the red scallop roof section using connect double stick tape and attach it to the roof of the clock base using 1/8′ foam strips.
  • Adhere the woodgrain circle, clock hands and red circle together using connect glue and attach them to the clock base using connect glue.
  • Attach the red and white scallop layers to the bottom of the clock base using double stick tape.
  • Apply connect glue to the red strip and attach it to the white fence using connect glue.
  • Apply 1/8″ foam strips to the back of the fence and attach it to the clock base.
  • Hand cut a little cuckoo clock door, attach the black arms to the door with connect glue and attach the two sections to the clock base using a piece of mounting tape.
  • Assemble the black, red and white bird sections and attach them together using connect glue.
  • Apply a double layer piece of mounting tape to the back of the bird and attach it to the clock base.

Isn’t it great how you can make this die cut cuckoo clock card with the add-on dies and NOT have to buy a whole new die set? Rubbernecker did this fabulously with their legendary Tabbed House Die and all the additional sets that accessorize it to perfection. I’ve LOVED using the whole collection and you can see lots of die cut house cards I made here. I can already tell that this shed set is going to be a hit because these cuckoo clock details are just irresistible! Do you agree?
